Based on the research of Invest Europe Analysis the numbers of 2020 have shown compelling results.

During 2020, the total fundraising reached ?101 bn, which is a 12% decrease compared to 2019. An outstanding number of 672 funds incremented capital in 2020.

Venture Capitals fundraising topped ?15.5 bn, which was a 7% decline compared to the year of 2019 that was the highest total recorded with ?16.7 bn.

Altogether, 288 Venture Capitals raised fund in 2020 including 79 VCs in the pile which were first-time funds in Europe.

The origin of the funds were mostly government agencies, private individuals and fund of funds with other asset managers.

France and the Benelux states are repeatedly being the primary source of funds within the region.
